On behalf of our Grand Knight, we welcome you to the Knights Website of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Council 6413. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in the United States in 1882, it is named in honor of Christopher Columbus.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site! As Knights of Columbus we seek to live out our Order’s principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Additionally, we play an important role within the OLMC parish community. While we see many things change around us (as Ordinary Time turns to Lent, Summer Break turns to Cowboy Football Season, etc.), our goal is always the same; to serve our priests and our parish while simultaneously helping our brother knights grow spiritually.
We serve our priests by supporting seminarians and through the Council’s "Pastor’s Fund" which supports causes and charities of the pastor’s choosing. We serve the parish by assisting in many projects around the Portland area. Be it the benefit breakfast, blood drive, or lawncare; the Knights are usually helping in some way. And we help our brother knights grow spiritually by praying the Rosary before our council meetings and providing information on issues impacting the Church and our faith.
Once again, thank you for stopping by. If you’re a brother Knight, be sure to look at our Knight calendar found in our monthly Knightline Newsletter and join us for our next meeting or event. If you’re not a member, I strongly encourage you to please consider joining! Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or to fill out a membership application.
Vivat Jesus!
