Adult Choir
Singers, non-singers, beginning singers welcome!
QUALIFICATIONS for ALL ensembles:
A LOVE for God and a little TIME each week.
Cherub Choir
For children age 5 through 3rd grade
Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Masses: 1st Sunday of the month, 11:00 a.m.
Choristers
For students in grades 4 through 7th grade
Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Masses: 1st Sunday of the Month, 11:00 a.m.
Young Adults
For students 8th grade and up
. Rehearsal for Fall 2018 will begin on Wednesday, September 13th at 6:o0 p.m. in the church..
Adult Choir
For adults and older students
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Masses: Sundays, 8:30 a.m. and/or 11:00 a.m.

2. When do rehearsals begin?
CHERUB CHOIR/CHORISTERS Rehearsal begins on Wednesday, September 14, at 6 p.m. in the church.
ADULT CHOIR Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the church.
*New Members may join at any time and are encouraged to contact Cynthia Longoria.
ADULT CHOIR:
Rehearsals for the August 10, 2016 will begin in September 13, 2018.
YOUTH CHOIRS:
Rehearsals for Fall 2016 will begin on Wednesday, September 14th at 6:o0 p.m. in the church.
CHERUB CHOIRS:
Rehearsals for Fall 2016 will begin on Wednesday, September 14th;
Cherub: 6p.m. - 6:45 p.m.

3. Do I have to have a trained voice to sing? No.

Cynthia has been the Director of Music at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas since 1998. She serves as the director of the OLMC Adult Choir, the Cherub Choir and the Choristers. Under her direction, members of the Adult Choir have sung in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome, Venice and Florence and recently sang at El Escorial in Spain.
Cynthia Longoria earned a bachelor of music degree with an emphasis in vocal performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master's degree in vocal performance from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Cynthia is also an Associate Professor in the Del Mar College Music Department in Corpus Christi, Texas where she teaches Applied Voice, Class Voice and Diction for Singers.
Cynthia holds memberships in the Texas Music Educator’s Association, the National Association of Teacher’s of Singing the National Pastoral Musician’s Association and is an alumnus of Sigma Alpha Iota. She is also a Cantor Colleague through NPM.
