TGIF departs at crack of dawn on their trip to Alexandria, Alabama for their Steubenville conference. Numerous youth groups from across South and other places will be attending the weekend event. This conference stresses the teachings of the Catholic Church, fidelity to the Holy Father, and the importance of the sacraments and Christian prayer. Mass is celebrated daily, and the sacrament of reconciliation will be offered during the weekend. There will be talks by guest speakers, skits, time for recreation, and small group discussions. The Saturday evening session will feature Eucharistic Adoration. At this service many teens come to truly experience the Lord’s love for them and their need to either commit or recommit their lives to Him. The weekend closes with Sunday Mass, lunch, and departure. Overall mission is to provide an opportunity for the teens to encounter Christ in way that they return full of the Holy Spirit and seeking to love our Lord more. That they embrace their faith with fullness and let others see their light shine.
