Purpose and Mission Statements
Teens Growing In Faith (TGIF) is OLMC’s High School faith formation program. Its focus is to allow teens to dive deeper into the Catholic faith, putting meaning into what we do and why we do it as Catholics. TGIF also focuses on preparing those seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation through a two-year formation. Our mission is for high school teens to take ownership of their faith and provide tools to assist them as they take their relationship with Christ to a level of loving him above all else.
“Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it.” (Proverbs 22)
“Be the best versions of ourselves.” (Matthew Kelly)
IN-PERSON CLASSES
PARISH HALL
Sunday nights after 5:30pm mass
from 6:45 to 8:30pm
* All students must be registered through RE Office
to attend religious education classes at OLMC.
Classes run SEPTEMBER through MAY.
NOTE: Per Diocesan Policy, all those seeking to receive
their Sacrament of Confirmation must enroll in their parish's
Confirmation Preparation program and meet all requirements
set forth by their parish and Priest. This Diocesan policy applies
to all Catholic School and Homeschool Students as well.
NOTE: The Attendance Policy for those in 1st and 2nd Year
Confirmation Formation is 6 absences for each year. Of the 6 missed classes,
3 need to be made up but this does not erase the absences.
Please see Catechist and Leader, Mr. Ben Polasek for missed classwork.
NOTE: Those in 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation Formation are to
attend Holy Mass every weekend (Saturday after 4:30pm - Sunday)
and afterwards gather a note or signed bulletin from the parish Priest or Deacon
to return to their Catechist or DRE at class.
NOTE: 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation Student/Parent/Guardians
have forms and responsibilities that are required by due dates
in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
TGIF Advisory Team
The Advisory Team is comprised of Father Piotr Koziel and (4) adult volunteers whose mission is to bring Teens to Christ. With the guidance of Father Piotr Koziel, the TGIF Advisory Team provides recommendations for curriculum, develops structure, and discusses the dynamics of TGIF in order to develop a program which provides a faith filled experience to teens.
