Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (OLMC) provides children’s preparation sessions
for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation)
and for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance/Confession).
Mandatory Requirements:
* Birth Certificates are needed for those preparing to receive the Sacrament of Baptism.
Please call Parish Office, for info, assistance &
with planning a Baptism at OLMC (361)643-7533.
* Baptism Certificates are needed for individuals preparing to make the
Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion & Confirmation.
Please bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate,
or the original and we’ll make a copy, to the RE Office.
If your child was baptized at our parish, please call
Parish Office, with the Month and Year,
for help in obtaining a copy (361)643-7533.
* All those preparing for a Sacrament must be registered
parishioners of (OLMC) Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
* All those preparing for a Sacrament must be
registered in the OLMC religious education program.
* All those preparing for First Communion or Confirmation must have
two years of continous faith formation prior to receiving the sacraments.
* Parent/Guardian Info/Meeting with Father Piotr
* Atleast (1) Parent/Guardian and Sponsors of Teen Confirmations must attend:
(1) "Class on the Sacraments" with Deacon Robert Rosales.
Classes held in the Church, once a month on designated Sundays
at 9:30am (following dismissal of 8:30am Mass).
Participants must sign on for attendance credit.
* This is the same class for Parents and Godparents of Baptisms.
(Everyone's always welcome to Deacon's class on the beautiful
Catholic Sacraments and our responsibilities as children of God...
(Family, Friends, Parishioners.)

whom are not baptized or uncatechized (little to no religious education),

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion:
Discussion, practice and excitement for the joyous gifts
of the beautiful sacraments should be happening at home.
Be prepared to make a great confession!
Examine your conscience, how have you sinned, how will you ask the Lord
for help and forgiveness? Do you know and understand the Act of Contrition?

Sacrament of Confirmation:
Confirmation Prep Class meets Sunday nights in the Parish Hall
from 6:45 to 8:30 pm after the Sunday evening mass.
NOTE: The Attendance Policy for those in 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation Formation
is only 3 absences allotted without makeup work. Please gather missed class work
from Catechists and return to Mr. Ben for credit.
NOTE: 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation Prep Student/Parent/Guardians
have packets of forms and responsibilities that are required to be completed and
returned by due dates in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation that RE year.
Please be sure to gather your Confirmation Packet and return to RE Office.
* NOTE: Per Diocesan Policy, all those seeking to receive their
Sacrament of Confirmation must enroll in their parish's Confirmation
Preparation program and meet all the requirements set forth by their parish.
This Diocesan policy applies to all Catholic School Students as well.

NOTE: 1st Year and 2nd Year confirmation students are required to complete
at least 15 hours of Volunteer Service and at least 1 hour of Adoration.

In operation for over 20 years, 24/7 for visitors to come adore the
Blessed Sacrament, Jesus in the Eucharist!

- Religious Ed. Office has opportunities available for

They'd love to have your help assisting with special and simple
in-office or at-home projects, volunteering in the classroom or nursery,
as well as with Vacation Bible School!
- Every Friday throughout Lent, students can help operate the
Lenten Fish Fry at OLMC. Everybody's help is needed!
